ابوظہبی کے ائیر پورٹ پہنچے پر اسرائیلی وزیرخارجہ یائر لاپڈ نے سوشل میڈیا پر متحدہ عرب امارات کے حکام کی جانب سے گرم جوش استقبال کاشکریہ ادا کیا اور تصاویر بھی جاری کیں۔بعد ازاں یائرلاپڈ نے ابوظبی میں اسرائیلی سفارتخانے کا افتتاح کیا
وزیرخارجہ یائر لاپڈدبئی میں اسرائیل کے قونصلیٹ جنرل کا افتتاح بھی کریں گے اور اپنے ہم منصب شیخ عبداللہ بن زاید سےبھی ملاقات کریں گے۔متحدہ عرب امارات اور اسرائیل کے درمیان گزشتہ سال ستمبر میں تعلقات بحال ہوئے تھے اور رواں سال جنوری میں اسرائیل نے یو اے ای میں باضابطہ طور پر اپنا سفارتخانہ کھولنے کی منظوری دی تھی جب کہ یو اے ای نے بھی تل ابیب میں اپنا سفارتخانہ کھولنے کی منظوری دی تھی۔
اسرائیل اور متحدہ عرب امارات میں سفارتی تعلقات کے بعد سےکسی بھی اسرائیلی وزیرکا یہ پہلا دورہ ہے۔
