سری لنکا: خواتین کے برقع پہننے پر پابندی اور ایک ہزار سے زائد مدارس بند کرنے کا فیصلہ
عالمی خبر رساں ادارے کے مطابق سری لنکا کے وزیر برائے عوامی تحفظ سارتھ ویراسکیرا نے برقع پہننے کو شدت پسندی قرار دیتے ہوئے ملک بھر میں نقاب پہننے پر پابندی عائد کرنے کی دستاویز پر دستخط کردیئے ہیں جسے کابینہ سے منظور کرایا جائے گا۔
وزیر نے مزید کہا کہ پہلے ملک میں کم ہی خواتین برقع پہنتی تھیں لیکن اب اس رجحان میں خطرناک حد تک اضافہ ہوا ہے جو اس بات کی نشانی ہے کہ ملک میں انتہاپسندی بڑھ رہی ہے جس سے قومی سلامتی کو خطرہ ہے۔وزیر سارتھ ویراسکیرا کا مزید کہنا تھا کہ قومی تعلیمی پالیسی کی خلاف ورزی کرنے والے ہزار سے زائد اسلامی اسکولوں پر بھی پابندی کا فیصلہ کیا ہے۔ انکا کہناتھا کہ اس بات کی اجازت نہیں دی جاسکتی کہ کوئی بھی اپنی مرضی سے اسکول کھول لے اور جو من کرے پڑھائے۔
واضح رہے کہ 2019 میں ایسٹر کے موقع پر گرجا گھروں اور ہوٹلوں پر خود کش حملے میں سیکڑوں افراد ہلاک ہوگئے تھے۔ ایک حملہ آور خاتون نے نقاب لگایا ہوا تھا جس کے بعد ملک بھر میں نقاب پہننے پر پابندی عائد کردی گئی تھی
